Sportsmen and women are particularly prone to knee injuries that require an operation. The M.4s® comfort knee brace is a rigid frame brace that is used, for example, before and after operative treatment. It allows a limitation of bending (flexion) and straightening (extension) and can thus protect against harmful joint movements. The Physioglide hinge mimics the roll / glide movement of the knee joint and ensures a correct and secure fit on the leg.
Among other things, it is possible to use the M.4s® comfort for the following indications:
After ruptures of the cruciate ligament (cruciate ligament ruptures)
After ruptures of the collateral ligament (rupture of the collateral ligament)
For instability of the knee
After meniscus intervention
Following cartilage surgery
The knee brace is suitable for non-surgical and for postoperative treatment. It should be worn directly against the skin. The range of motion can be set on the hinge of the brace. For the M.4s comfort, this is possible without tools. Please note that wedges should only be changed by specialist personnel. The moveable D-rings adjust flexibly upon movement and ensure a correct and secure fit of the brace on the leg.
An especially extended calf shell ensures a better fit and counteracts possible pressure areas. A comprehensive pad set of anti-slip material optimises the fit of the orthosis.
The 4-point-stabilisation system of the M.4s® comfort knee brace and the rigid frame give the knee additional support. The guidance and stabilisation of the knee can be set within various ranges of movement. The following limitations can be set:
Straightening (extension): 5° - hyperextension, 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°
Bending (flexion): 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90%°, 120°
Immobilisation: 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 45°
The extension and flexion stops on the M.4s® comfort knee orthosis from medi can protect against harmful joint movements and relieve injured structures. The 5° hyperextension wedge provides a gentle hyperextension if needed. Thanks to the flat and light frame construction, the patient can wear the orthosis comfortably under clothing.
